About Animal Klotski

Klotski is the classic form of the sliding block puzzle. Here the blocks are animal shaped: a long snake takes up two squares, a chubby panda holds a single one. Pieces can only slide into empty space, with no rotating or lifting. That restriction is what makes the game hard.

The early stages finish in a few moves. Then the board gets crowded and clearing a path for the rabbit means moving three or four animals in a particular order. The wrong order locks you up; there is an undo button, but the real answer is planning the move in advance. The moment you understand that every move has a cost, the rhythm of the game changes.

The pace is calm and there is no timer. If you want to sit and think at the start of a level, nobody rushes you. The animal art is soft and colourful, which keeps the mood light even as the puzzles get harder.

1. Study the board and work out the rabbit's route to the exit.
2. Click and hold an animal with the mouse; press with your finger on a touch screen.
3. Slide the animal toward the empty space; pieces only move into a gap.

5. Gather the obstacles to the side in sequence to clear the rabbit's path.
6. If you get locked, use the undo button to cancel your last move.
7. The level is complete once the rabbit reaches the exit.
