๐ Checkers About
Checkers brings the board from your living room to the screen: pieces move diagonally and a jump over the opponent captures. You play against the computer, free in your browser.
About Checkers
The game uses the Russian rules of diagonal checkers. On a normal move a piece goes only forward and one square diagonally, but when capturing it can also jump backward. When a piece reaches the opponent's last row it becomes a king and can travel as many squares as it likes along the diagonal.
The rule that surprises most people is forced capture. If you can capture a piece, you cannot make any other move, and if a chain capture is open you must follow it to the end. It works both ways: you can sacrifice a piece on purpose to pull your opponent onto the square you want. For players who do not know the rules well, the game shows the possible moves, so learning by trying is easy. The game comes with Turkish language support.
Why do kids love this game?
Taking three pieces in a single move feels like a little victory. The computer is tuned for an amateur player, so even a beginner can win.
Is this game safe for kids?
Completely. The screen shows only a board and round pieces, with no distracting decoration. It works well for teaching checkers within the family.

๐ก Tips & Tricks
- Love the edge: a piece on the edge of the board cannot be captured from the side, so it defends well.
- Keep the back row: the pieces at the very back stop your opponent from getting a king, so move them last.
- Use forced capture: give up a piece on purpose to lure your opponent onto a square that opens a double capture for you.
- Keep pieces in pairs: pieces standing one behind the other protect each other, while a lone piece rushing ahead is easy to lose.
- Keep your king central: a king in the middle controls the long diagonals, and its power fades in a corner.
