About Crossy Road

Your character hops forward one square at a time. Ahead of you, a road, water, and train tracks appear in turn, each one a different kind of danger.

On the river you need to jump onto floating logs, while on the road you need to wait for a gap between vehicles. Wait too long anywhere, though, and the screen leaves you behind, so stopping is a risk too.

Why do kids love this game?

The rule is a single tap, and every run is short. Wanting to beat your last high score keeps you playing.

Is this game safe for kids?

Yes. Collisions are shown in a cartoon style and the characters are cute; there's no blood or disturbing content.

1. Hop one square with the arrow keys.
2. On phones, tap the screen to move.
3. Wait for a gap between the vehicles.
4. Jump onto the logs on the river.
5. Wait for the train to pass.
6. Don't wait too long, or the screen leaves you behind.
7. Try to beat your high score.

• Look one row ahead: watching the row you're about to cross, not the one you're on, is what nails the timing
• Land in the middle of the log: jumping to the edge drops you in the water, the middle of the log is the safe spot
• Use sideways moves: you don't always have to go forward, sliding left or right lets you wait for a gap
• Don't rush the train: it arrives fast and announces itself with sound, so once you hear it, never linger on those tracks
• Keep a rhythm: moving at a steady pace gets you further than constantly stopping and starting

• Endless progress: there's no finish line, the goal is beating your last high score
• Three kinds of danger: roads, rivers, and railways each demand a different skill
