Stack Defence is a simple defense">tower defense game played with stickman soldiers, where you protect your tower against waves of enemies. Each wave comes stronger than the last, and it's free to play in your browser.

About Stack Defence

Your tower stands in the middle of the screen, and enemies advance on it from around the edges. You recruit soldiers and add them to the defense, and the soldiers clash with approaching foes on their own. When you stop a wave you get a reward and prepare for the next.

The strategic part is that the tower also earns experience points. As you level up, you choose among different abilities, some boosting attack power and some bringing more soldiers. Because the waves are endless, which ability you unlock first decides how long you can last.

Why do kids love this game?

The rules click in a few seconds, but the choices made after each wave send the game in a different direction every time. Lasting longer than before keeps the urge to set a record alive.

Is this game safe for kids?

Yes. The soldiers and enemies are simple stickman figures, and defeated figures just vanish from the screen, with no blood shown. Fighting is the subject of the game, but it stays quite abstract visually.

1. Start the game and look at where the tower stands.

3. In the first wave, watch which direction the enemies come from.
4. When you stop a wave, collect the rewards you earned.
5. When the tower levels up, pick one of the abilities on offer.

• Watch the incoming side: putting more soldiers on the side most enemies come from delays their reach to the tower.
• Keep a record book: remembering which wave you stopped at each try shows which ability order works better.
