Dress To Impress hands you a theme each round and starts the clock. Your job is to raid the wardrobe and build an outfit that fits the brief. It runs safely in your browser and there is nothing to install.

How does Dress To Impress work?

A round opens with a title: summer picnic, red carpet or street style. The moment the countdown starts, you dive into the closet. Dresses, shoes, hairstyles, glasses and makeup sit in separate tabs, and you can try every one of them.

The difficulty comes from the sheer choice. There are hundreds of pieces, but the clock keeps moving. Experienced players lock in a hero piece first and build around it. Anyone who dithers walks the runway with a half-finished look.

The runway and the vote

When time runs out, everyone walks in turn. You strike a pose, the camera swings to you and the other players score the look. Then you cast your own vote for the outfit you liked most. The winner is announced on screen at the end of the round.

Why kids like it

There is no right answer here. The same theme gives ten players ten different results, and nobody ends up dressed wrong. Trying colours and textures is free, and if a look falls flat the next round brings a brand new brief.

Is it safe?

It plays out in a calm, pastel world. There is competition, yet losing carries no penalty and nothing frightening reaches the screen. Suitable for ages 7 and up.

• Stay in one colour family: Looks built on two or three tones pull more votes than scattered ones.
• Start with the hero piece: Choose the dress or the top first, then match shoes and accessories to it.
• Respect the brief: On a red carpet round, street clothes will not score however good they look.
• Split the clock: Give half the time to the outfit and the rest to hair and makeup.
• Do not skip the pose: The stance you pick finishes the look, so leave a moment for it.
