You swap two gems that sit next to each other on the board. If the move lines up three or more gems of one color, they pop and vanish, the gems above drop down and new ones fill the gaps. Every level has its own goal, and when you complete it you move on to the next.

The real game is in fours and longer lines. When you match four or more gems at once, an explosive power-up appears on the board. Setting off those power-ups side by side can clear a big part of the board in one go. So instead of making the first triple you see, planning a few moves ahead and building a bigger line often pays off more.

Start from the bottom: matches at the bottom of the board shift the gems above and can set off new lines on their own.
Wait for the four: even if you can make a triple right now, build the four first if one is nearby.
Combine power-ups: setting off two power-ups side by side clears a much bigger area than using them one by one.
Focus on the goal: if a level asks for a specific task, play for that goal instead of a high score.
Do not forget the corners: gems left in corners are the hardest to clear, so deal with them early.
