The round starts and your role appears: either you blend into the scenery and vanish, or you sweep the map for the ones who did. Obby: Chameleon - Paint & Hide is a hide-and-seek match played across wide obby maps built from colourful blocks. It opens straight in the browser with no setup.

What is Obby: Chameleon?

As a hider, picking the right colour is the whole job. Step beside a wooden hut, take on the same timber shade and the eye slides past you. Parked car doors, big boulders and the shadows in alley corners work the same way. Camouflage alone is not enough though; you also learn to stand perfectly still until the countdown ends, because one small movement pulls a seeker right to you.

Playing seeker flips your view. A patch that shines a little too brightly on a wall, a shadow that does not match the floor, a single twitch: those are the clues. Every player you spot brings your team closer to clearing the area.

Between rounds you unlock daily quests, pets, gear and new skins, so the same map plays a bit differently each time.

Why kids like it

The hide-and-seek rules are already familiar and colour-changing is the twist on top. When a seeker walks past without noticing you, you hold your breath and grin. Roles swap every round, so nobody does the same job for long.

Is it safe for kids?

Yes. There are no frightening scenes or harsh visuals; a caught player simply becomes visible and the round carries on. Ages 7 and up can play comfortably.

1. Check your role: At the start of a round the game assigns you as hider or seeker and shows it on screen.
2. Move around the map: Walk with W A S D or the arrow keys and look around with the mouse.
3. Match your colour: Step close to the surface you want to use; your character takes on its shade and texture.
4. Crouch and wait: Press C to crouch and Space to clear obstacles, then hold still until the timer ends.
5. Scan as a seeker: Left click to catch and watch for colours that do not fit the floor and for tiny movements.
6. Spend your rewards: Use what you earn between rounds on new skins, gear and pets.

• Hug the surface: Even with the right colour, standing away from a wall leaves your outline visible, so get close.
• Choose shade: Alley corners and roof overhangs are dark and quiet, and seekers check them last.
• Reposition early: Settle your spot in the first seconds of the countdown, then stop moving entirely.
• Seekers should start at the edges: Few players hide in the open, so wall lines and vehicles pay off faster.
• Make crouching a habit: A lower character is a smaller target and drops out of eye level.
• Look for flat texture: A surface with the right colour but no detail is usually a hiding player.
