How does Bricks Breaker play?

A stack of balls sits at the bottom of the screen. Move the mouse and an aiming line appears; click and every ball fires off in that direction. The balls ricochet off walls and blocks as they travel upward. The number on a block tells you how many more hits it needs.

The real skill is reading the angle. Firing straight up breaks a few blocks, but a calculated shot into the wall keeps the balls bouncing around inside for far longer. A good launch can clear half the board in one go. After each shot the blocks drop one row, so every move leaves you a little less space.

There are two modes. Level mode holds 30 packs with star targets, and finishing in few shots earns three stars. Endless mode runs until the blocks reach the bottom.

Why kids like it

The rule takes two sentences, yet finding a good angle really makes you think. With no timer you can calculate as long as you like. Short rounds and quick restarts keep the pace up.

Is it safe?

• Close the gaps: Lone blocks at the edge narrow your firing angle, so clear those first.
• Finish in few shots: Three stars come from choosing the right angle rather than playing quickly.
