What kind of game is Head Basketball?

One rule counts: score more than your opponent before the clock stops. You jump, take the ball and get close enough to attempt a shot. Every character carries a different special move, so the same tactic will not deliver the same result with two different players.

Three modes are available. If it is your first game, Quick Match makes sense because you learn the rules against a calm computer opponent. Single-player runs as a tournament, while Two-player puts a friend beside you on the same keyboard. Why kids enjoy it

The character art is funny and the movement stays exaggerated. A match wraps up in a couple of minutes, so a rematch never means waiting. Timing a special move to steal a game late feels particularly good.

Yes, the tone is purely sporty and cheerful. Nothing harsh or unsettling appears on screen. The two-player mode lets you sit beside a sibling and play head to head on one computer.

• Do not waste jumps: You cannot change direction in the air, so wait until the ball comes near.
• Stay close to the hoop: Long shots bounce out, and your accuracy under the rim is far better.
• Move when they jump: An airborne opponent has no defence, so use that gap.
• Bank the special move: Instead of firing it whenever it charges, hold it until the score gap opens.
• Try another character: Switching ballers against a tricky tournament rival changes the balance quickly.
