📖 Solitaire About

Solitaire is the classic single-player card game. You try to sort the cards and complete all four suit piles. Free in the browser.

About Solitaire

The table holds seven columns of cards. Within each column you stack cards from high to low while alternating colors: a black seven takes a red six, a red six takes a black five.

The goal is to build all four suit piles upward starting from the ace, then two, then three, and so on. The game ends once every card has moved up there; when you're stuck, you draw a new card from the deck.

💡 Tips & Tricks

  • Reveal face-down cards: your priority on every move should be uncovering hidden cards, since a column that never opens locks up the whole game
  • Don't rush the aces up: low cards moved up too early never come back down when your columns need them
  • Value an empty column: only a king can go into an emptied column, so don't fill the gap right away
  • Treat the deck as a last resort: drawing a card while a move is still available on the table just delays your work
  • Focus on the longest column: clearing the column with the most face-down cards pays off far more than fiddling with the short ones

⚡ Features

  • Classic solitaire: the familiar seven-column card layout
  • Color sorting: cards stack in descending order while alternating colors
  • Four foundation piles: built upward starting from each ace
  • No time pressure: think for as long as you like
  • Undo moves: take back a wrong move
  • Works everywhere: played with mouse or touch controls

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, the game is completely free. There's no download or sign-up required — open the page in your browser, the table loads, and you can start playing right away with nothing more than an up-to-date browser.
In the columns you stack from high to low while alternating colors: a black seven takes a red six, and a red six takes a black five. On the four spaces up top, you start from the ace of each suit and build upward.
It ends once every card has moved up to the four foundation piles, from ace through king. The game locks up whenever there's no move left on the table and the draw deck has run out.
Every move should prioritize uncovering a face-down card. It also matters not to move low cards up too early, because you can't bring them back down once a column needs them again.
It suits kids seven and up. It's a classic card game with no betting or money involved, and no blood or disturbing content, since the whole game is built around simple, mechanical controls.
