Townscaper

Townscaper is a procedural building game where placing colorful blocks on a blank ocean canvas causes bridges, gardens, sunlit courtyards, and tall towers to form by themselves. There's no goal — just build, watch, and change things.

How to play Townscaper

Click anywhere with the mouse to place a block. Blocks you place nearby connect automatically, forming bridges, stairs, and courtyards. Right-click to remove a block. Pick different colors from the palette to distinguish neighborhoods and districts.

You can change the lighting to create a sunset look. An export feature is available for anyone who wants to save and share their design.

Why is it different?

Nothing can go wrong in Townscaper. No losing condition, no time pressure. Placing something small and watching how it takes shape is satisfying in itself. Creativity stays, stress stays out.

Is it safe?

Completely safe. Suitable for ages 6 and up — enjoyable for parents too.

1. Click anywhere on the ocean with your mouse — a block appears.
2. Blocks placed nearby automatically form bridges, stairs, or courtyards.
3. Right-click (or use eraser mode) to remove a block.
4. Choose different colors from the left color palette to paint neighborhoods.
5. Use the light slider to create a sunset or daytime atmosphere.
6. Export your design to save and share it.

• Leave a gap in the middle: arrange blocks in a ring shape and the inside becomes a garden.
• Try a tall tower: stack blocks on the same spot and a tower with windows grows automatically.
• Mix colors: different neighborhood colors make the map more readable and lively.
• Adjust the light: golden hour lighting (sunset) gives the most beautiful atmosphere for screenshots.
