๐Ÿ“– Sea Battle Classic About

Sea Battle Classic is the browser version of the battleship game many of us played on squared paper at school. Your opponent is the computer, the page looks like a pencil drawing, and it opens right away.

About Sea Battle Classic

First you place your 10 ships on the board. The biggest is five squares long and the smallest is a single square. Then you take turns firing at a square on the enemy board. Miss and the turn passes; hit and a red cross appears and you get another shot.

It all comes down to probability. After a hit you do not know whether the ship lies across or up and down, so the order in which you try the neighboring squares decides the game. When you place your own ships, you also need a layout that makes the computer's guesses harder. There are easy, medium and hard levels, and on hard the computer plays much smarter after a hit.

Why do kids love this game?

You learn the rules in a minute, yet every match turns into a little detective case. When you sink a ship completely and it shows up whole on the board, it feels great.

Is this game safe for kids?

Yes. The ships are symbols drawn on paper and shots only show up as marked squares. The game supports Turkish, and your opponent is always the computer, so there is no chatting with strangers.

๐ŸŽฏ How to Play

  1. When the game opens, pick a difficulty level. Easy is best for your first match.
  2. Drag your 10 ships onto your own board.
  3. Turn the ships across or up and down to make them harder to guess.
  4. Click a square on the enemy board to fire.
  5. On a hit a red cross appears and you shoot again.
  6. When you miss, the turn goes to the computer, so watch its shots.
  7. The first player to sink every enemy ship wins the match.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips & Tricks

  • Checkerboard pattern: fire at every other square at first, so even two-square ships do not slip by.
  • Four directions after a hit: after a cross, try right, left, up and down first, since diagonal squares are wasted.
  • Around a sunk ship: ships never touch, so do not fire at the squares around a ship you already sank.
  • Use the edges: placing some of your ships along the edge slows down a computer that scans the middle.
  • Level up slowly: win a few times on easy, move to medium, and leave hard for last.

โšก Features

  • Squared notebook look: the board is drawn like a page from a school notebook.
  • A fleet of 10 ships: sizes run from five squares down to one.
  • Three difficulty levels: the computer plays differently on easy, medium and hard.
  • Extra shot rule: as long as you keep hitting, the turn stays with you.
  • Against the computer: start a match any time without waiting for an opponent.
  • Mobile friendly: play with a mouse on a computer or by touch on a phone.

โ“ Frequently Asked Questions

You get 10 ships in total, all different sizes. The longest covers five squares and the smallest covers one. Ships are placed so they never touch each other, and that rule also helps you when you guess where the enemy ships are.
A red cross appears on the square you hit and the turn stays with you. You keep firing until you miss. When a ship is fully sunk, it shows whole on the board, so the squares around it are empty.
Yes, Sea Battle Classic supports the Turkish language. Menus and the difficulty choice can be read in Turkish, which makes it much easier for young players who are learning the rules for the first time. The opponent is always the computer.
